Training is on at 6:45pm this Monday night (7 April) at the Woden basketball stadium.

InsideFloorball.com.au, Australia’s only national floorball portal, has been launched this weekend.  The site will serve the entire Australian floorball community and aims to be a one-stop-shop for floorballers around the country.

Site features include:

• news coverage of Australian Elite Series and social leagues plus international floorball news,
• Elite Series game results and standings,
• 100% free venue directory, and
• a centralised discussion forum and member messaging.

The site’s community functions will continue to expand over the coming months and an international events calendar will come online soon.

Floorball players from all around Australia, and indeed the world, are encouraged to sign up and make full use of this new resource.  We are always looking for contributors, so please contact us if you would like to write some articles and your account will be set up accordingly.  Venues running social competitions are most welcome to register an account and provide regular updates on their competitions and events.

InsideFloorball - for the love of the game!

The second Northern Beaches Open was held on October 13, 2007 at Sports and Leisure Centre, Willoughby, and saw 8 teams fighting for the trophy.  There were Sydney based teams Bondi Rockets, Glebe, Sydney City, UNSW, the hosts Northern Beaches Stingrays, QLD's Story Bridge Devils, along with Canberra Blue Bulls and of course, the Weston Creek Pirates.  All teams started the day with big ambition and in 15 games of floorball the spectators could witness 157 goals and spectacular floorball action. 

Our Sunday trainings have been nothing short of a success.  Pirates had a low turnout with several players at Inline Nationals for the first day, but all in all they were fantastic sessions.  The skill level from the group improved dramatically over the weeks and we're all better players for it - ready to tackle the big guns at NBO.

A big thanks goes to Scott O'Brien for his coaching, and to Patrik Nilsson and his wife Kristen for catering lunches. 

The Weston Creek Pirates FC will be running a tipping competition for the NBO regular games (excluding finals).  It's just a bit of fun - entry is free and there's no prizes this round, however if it works well we might do a version for the Eastern Elite Series with a $5 or $10 joining fee and a cash prize pool for the winners.  Everyone is welcome to join and you can put your tips in all the way up to the start of each match.
